10 Things in Nature to be Grateful for:

  • Sunrise and Sunset

The energetic Sunrise and the calm Sunset are our absolute favorites. There is some magic in that sunrise that makes us believe that we can start fresh today leaving behind what did not work out for us yesterday. The energy of the sunrise and its beauty makes us believe in ourselves again. Sunset helps us reflect on our day and calms our minds to let go of all that worries us. It lets us stay in the present moment and enjoy it.

We should feel gratitude for this wonderful gift of nature.

  • Oceans, Seas, Lakes

Water surrounds the earth and supports an innumerable number of marine plants and animals. Thinking of a trip to the beaches makes us so happy. I have always loved the beaches. I felt so calm and happy sitting near the shore where I could just sit on the water-soaked sand and waves would come rushing towards me, caress me, and leave till I wait for another wave. We sat beside the lake or river and sometimes took dips in it, and also enjoyed fishing. Water not only provides us with options for recreation, it helps us survive in this world. It helps regulate the climate too. So be aware and do not waste water.

  • Trees all around

Have you ever imagined a world without trees? It would be life-threatening. Trees provide the oxygen we need and the more, the better. If you ever went on a trekking experience, you would know what it feels like to be away from the noisy roads of traffic and crowds and how peaceful it is to be surrounded by nature. Go to the nearby parks and sit for a while daily and do not use your phone. Be at one with the nature around you. Not only trees are beautiful, but they are also life savers. Hug a tree and thank them for being there for you. Plant more trees and promote the same if you want the next generations to keep breathing in clean air.

  • Rainbows

Rainbows are a symbol of hope for us. When I see one, I feel things in life are about to get better. It feels like a sign from the Almighty that life is always changing. Sometimes, it is raining and right after that, it shows you the rainbow. It tries to tell you just because you are not having a great time now doesn’t mean the future is cloudy too. Rainbows are beautiful and the seven colors brighten up the sky when you least expect it. Go out of your daily struggle of routine and experience nature in all seven colors.

  • Mountains

Mountains become mountains after a long time. They are hard to stay strong over time and it is difficult for humans to break it, but only make peace and make paths through it. They are beautiful and the snow-capped mountains look like fairytales. They add scenic beauty wherever they are and you get to click beautiful pictures.

  • Sky and Stars

We all grew up learning the Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars poem which says “Up above the world so high, like a diamond in the Sky”. The Sky is like a canvas that has so many stars shining in it. Spend some time away from the city lights and try star-gazing for a while. You will feel the tranquility that shall soothe your mind and let you hear your soul.

  • Flora and Fauna

We have diverse wildlife with varied flora and fauna surrounding us from uncountable types of birds, animals, flowers, plants, and medicinal herbs, which grow in different types of seasons and climates. It is so beautiful to look at the flowers and mesmerize oneself with the fragrance that they give. We often buy flowers and keep them in our room, we also gift them. We offer flowers at religious places. We have nature in all colors and shades possible.

  • Seasons

Nature shows us different colors with different kinds of flowers and animals as per the seasons. Seasons change and so do we. Summer brings the bright sunny days, autumn lets the dry and old go away and then we have the rainy season to drench ourselves in the rain dance. We have winter and Spring to enjoy the snow and also welcome new flowers and new leaves on trees. It tells us as nature changes, we should change too and change our perspectives to be at one with nature.

Winter Season
  • Deserts and Hotsprings

Deserts also are part of nature. It shows us how to be resilient. Deserts form after a long period when the trees have been cut off and the land is not fertile enough to do agriculture anymore. All they have are dunes and extreme weather but still, there is a life that survives there like camels and cactus. Deserts are beautiful in their own way. Hotsprings on the other hand are nature geysers. I had traveled to Manali once and tried to experience the hot springs. It is so wonderful and natural.

Desert
  • Bioluminescent Creatures

These glowing creatures create a magical underwater light experience that is so beautiful to the eyes. Nature is so diverse and full of colors. Spend time in nature and it offers you all you need for free. Value that and appreciate it every day.

Gratitude for Nature should be imbibed in our soul and each day we should let ourselves indulge in spending time with nature or volunteering for nature. You will feel connected to yourself too.

Take the Gratitude Challenge and stay connected to nature.
